On the way from Blatten near Naters to Belalp via Lärchwald, you will reach the settlement of "Egga" about halfway along the path, which has an exceptional location.
The path leads through the settlement, which nestles like a swallow's nest in a gentle semicircle on the eastern "shore" of a now marshy glacial hillside lake. A village lane flanked by residential houses on the hillside and farm buildings on the opposite side leads to an elongated square with a fountain. Almost half of the houses were built in the second half of the 16th century.
After the settlement, the path continues through the larch forest up to the Belalp and rewards you with a magnificent view of the Great Aletsch Glacier after the ascent.
