Guglielminetti AKA Doctor Goudron

Ernest Guglielminetti (1862-1943) was a medical doctor, diplomat and inventor. In France the inventive multi-disciplinary genius developed a new pavement mixture for roads. The pavement effectively banned the dust from all the major and minor transport routes through Europe and in turn made the inventor famous and rich. He was given the nickname “Dr. Goudron”.

His monument next to the Saltina bridge in Brig commemorates this local and most practically minded inventor.
