Gondoschlucht Gorge

The impressive Gondoschlucht gorge has been formed by the Doveria river over the last thousands of years. Two protected areas of cantonal importance are situated on the northern slope of the gorge. Thanks to the influence of souther alpine plant and animal life, the steep exposed southern faces are home to rare plant species such as Silene vallesia, Saxifraga cotyledon and Tulipa sylvestris.

With a little luck you can observe blue rock trushes in the jagged rocks, a bird species which is typical for the Mediterranean region.
