City Festival: Walking Tour in Gamsen – The Industrial Use of a Stream in the Past

guided tour
The Wuhr: Industrial Use of a Stream in the Past.
During the tour, Beat Jaggy explains to participants the diverse uses of the Wuhr in earlier times. In its heyday, up to 13 businesses in Gamsen utilized the water power of the Wuhr. The tour begins at the uppermost mill and follows the stream past the various buildings that were used back then. Along the way, participants learn about the individual businesses and workshops, their functions, and their histories. At the same time, the tour reveals unknown aspects of an intact village whose area has been continuously inhabited for around 3,000 years.
