Brig-Simplon: the tourist destination

The Brig-Simplon region has a long history as a tourist hotspot. The first association for transport and beautification in Brig and the surrounding area was founded back in 1927, and the tourism landscape has been evolving ever since. Brig Simplon Tourismus AG

Brig Simplon Tourismus AG is the marketing and sales organisation responsible for promoting tourism in the shareholder municipalities. Brig Simplon Tourismus AG is owned by the municipalities of Brig-Glis (50%), Ried-Brig (12.5%), Termen (12.5%), Simplon (12.5%) and Zwischbergen (12.5%).

Vision

Brig Simplon Tourismus AG has devised the following vision statement regarding the development of the Brig-Simplon tourist region:

‘Brig-Simplon is establishing itself as a hub, stop-off point and holiday region. Brig is seen as a lively Alpine town and the Brig-Simplon region as a natural recreational area; tourism is on the up here, and investment in the sector is becoming more attractive.’

Mission

The mission describes how Brig-Simplon aims to achieve the vision. It should be understood as a mandate and formulates the necessary objectives and focus points:

  • Positioning and marketing of the region as a leisure destination
  • Focus on core strengths such as inspiration, information and providing an experience
  • Creating inspiring experiences
  • Consistent promotion of individual tourism
  • Consistent positioning and marketing as a stop-off destination, hub and holiday region
  • Industry networking and diffusion of knowledge
  • Participation in tourism development and promotion of the location

 

Positioning

Brig-Simplon, a place where it feels like the city meets nature, brings together guests and locals alike to create a lasting bond and lasting memories. The aim of Brig-Simplon is to make the genuine experiences of the region discoverable together and to market them as worthy of a quality label.

 

Brig and Simplon Tourism Associations

The Brig Tourism and Simplon Tourism Associations see to the concerns of their members and act as the intermediary between the municipalities and Brig Simplon Tourismus AG. In doing so, they help to shape the tourism landscape and grow it further.

The Brig Tourism Association covers the municipalities of Brig-Glis, Ried-Brig and Termen.

Simplon Tourism Association

The Simplon Tourism Association covers the municipalities of Simplon and Zwischbergen.
