The 48th Upper Valais Drum and Fife Festival will take place in Brigerbad on the weekend of June 11–13, 2027.
Over these three days, 25 clubs—comprising around 1,000 musicians—will gather in our village of 400 residents—we look forward to your visit!
Our club, which currently has 33 active members, is joining forces to organize the Upper Valais Drum and
Pipe Players’ Festival. Compared to the annual August 1st celebration, this festival will be quite a bit larger, but the basic idea remains
the same: spending a wonderful time together with good music, food, and company.
At the heart of every Upper Valais festival are the competitions, which will captivate our village starting Friday with the solo and duo performances.
On Saturday, the action continues with individual and group competitions, and on Sunday evening, the awards ceremony—which everyone is anxiously awaiting—takes place. The excitement is palpable; everyone wants to “bring home” a wreath, and the joy of the club family when someone makes it into the top ranks echoes throughout the entire festival tent. On Friday and Saturday evenings, a varied music program featuring local and national groups ensures a great festive atmosphere and plenty of entertainment. Another highlight is the grand parade on Sunday afternoon, with all the clubs in their traditional uniforms. Further details about the program will be posted regularly on our website.
