Goms pictures
These pictures are a tribute to the nature of the Upper Valais and its people. The Goms, which we discovered with our children at the end of the 1980s and where my husband and I have been spending our summers for ten years. Beauty gives us access to the seemingly unchangeable. It is a promise of happiness, says the poet, but like happiness it is fragile. Glaciers, once a symbol of immense power and grandeur, gradually disappear over the course of a human life. And terrifying peaks, unattainable for centuries, suddenly plunge down into the valley in destructive fury.
Nature must be preserved, observed, photographed and depicted in drawings and paintings.
This exhibition is a small contribution to our place in the beauty of this mountain world.
Vernissage with music:
Saturday 31.1.2026, 3-5 pm
