Guided tour of Brig with Peter Salzmann.
You’re not the only one who’s wondered why Brig, of all places, was awarded the Swiss Heritage Society’s Wakker Prize this year. Is it its location at the lowest pass in the Valais Alps? Is it Stockalper, who, 350 years on, still sets the tone in the little town? Or is it the town’s resurgence following the devastating storm disaster of 1993? Together with cultural guide Peter Salzmann, on this entertaining two-and-a-half-hour walking tour through the Wakker town, we’ll explore surprising contradictions, striking personalities and (un)fortunate twists of fate – and come to the conclusion: of course Brig deserves the Wakker Prize!
