On a visit at night, well-known planets, the moon or even unknown objects can be sought out. With the 16-inch telescope, during the day spots on the surface of the sun can be observed.

Directions & Parking facilities

The observatory is located on the Simplon Pass. Coming from Brig, after the Hospitz and shortly after the Hotel Monte Leone, which is unmistakable due to its round building. About 200 m after the hotel, there is ample parking space on the left side of the pass road - at least when there is no snow. From here, a marked path about 50 m long leads around a small hill to the observatory. If there is snow on the pass, use the parking spaces at the Hotel Monte Leone.
