ViaStockalper - 7 days (Brig - Domodossola)
The Stockalper Trail, also known as the Via Stockalper, is a mule trail developed more than 300 years ago by Kaspar Stockalper. Since 1991, it has been revived as a cultural hiking trail.
The route consists of seven day-long stages from Brig to the Simplon Pass, on to Gondo, and into Domodossola, Italy.
Over the course of 7 days, you’ll follow the historic route across the Simplon Pass. You’ll start in the bustling old town of Brig, hike along the rushing mountain stream through the tranquil Taferna valley, pass the Simplon eagle, and stop for a break in the picturesque Simplon Dorf. You’ll climb over 100 natural steps up to passo di Monscera and enjoy the Italian flair in the dreamy Bognanco valley before arriving in Domodossola. All this and much more awaits you on your Brig–Domodossola hiking vacation.

Day 3: Simplon Pass – Simplon Dorf
Day 4: Simplon Dorf – Zwischbergen
Day 5: Zwischbergen – Bognanco
Day 6: Bognanco – Domodossola
Day 7: Domodossola

Tip: Start your hike on Sunday in Brig so that you can wake up in Domodossola on Saturday morning and be among the first to visit Domodossola’s weekly market

You’ll receive the Stockalper Kit, which includes vouchers for the hotels, a small souvenir, and additional information about the Stockalper Trail, at the hotel reception on the day of your arrival.
