The Stockalperweg, also called ViaStockalper, is a mule track built more than 300 years ago by Kaspar Stockalper. Since 1991, it has been revived as a cultural hike.
In seven day stages from Brig to the Simplon Pass, to Gondo and to Domodossola in Italy.
During 7 days, you embark on the historic route over the Simplon Pass. You start in the lively old town of Brig, hike along the rushing mountain stream through the quiet Taferna valley, past the golden eagle on the Simplon Pass and stop off in the picturesque Simplon village. You climb over 100 natural steps to the Monscere Pass and enjoy the Italianità in the dreamy Bognanco Valley before arriving in Domodossola. All this and much more awaits you on your Brig - Domodossola hiking holiday.
