Lake Bortel or Bortelseewji is a mountain lake at 2463 metres above sea level. The Ganterbach flows out of Lake Bortel into the Rhone Valley.

High up at Lake Bortel, hikers enjoy a wonderful overview of the Simplon road and the Rhone valley.
