Old Ganter Bridge

Bridge
This arch bridge is located east upstream of the new bridge and is a road bridge.
The Old Ganter Bridge was built in the course of the construction of the Simplon Road by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1801-1805. It had a wooden middle section so that it could be quickly destroyed if necessary. The stone arch was then installed later.
