The circular hike starts in the village of Brigerbad. After an ascent, you reach the Maria im Gstein pilgrimage chapel. This chapel is a popular place of pilgrimage for the people of the Upper Valais and is ideal for a short breather. The railroad station in Lalden is reached along the hiking trail and you return to the starting point of the hike via the Lötschberg south ramp.
The hike is on a sunny slope and can therefore be undertaken in spring.
