The Chrummbacheri canal is a water channel that transports clear mountain water from the Chrummbach in d'Heji. The intake of the canal is located in Egga. Water channels provide a habitat for animal and plant species and are an important part of cultural landscape and agriculture. On the hike along the Chrummbacheri, you can experience nature, as spectacular views of the impressive mountain landscape open up along the path.

Directions
The hike begins above Simplon Dorf at the Simplon Dorf, Eggen post bus stop. At the hamlet Egga is the intake of the Chrummbacheri canal. After crossing the national road via the bridge, you turn immediately right. Following the asphalt road for a few meters, turn right again. After a short descent, the water channel is reached, which is now followed.
After about one kilometer, a short section on the road follows. Continuing to hike attentively, you then climb again to the left to the water channel. This path is followed to d'Heji. Upon arriving in Heji, a detour to the Bleiken Chapel is worthwhile. Then continue on Hejistrasse back to Simplon Dorf.
