Shortly after leaving Brig, we cross the old village centre of Glis with the magnificent Glis pilgrimage church. The path becomes narrower and soon we reach the cultural landscape of Waldmatten. Our gaze wanders from the village of Gamsen over to the 14th century land wall. Before we reach the land wall on the signposted culture trail, the nature trail in Gamsen shows us the importance of traditional farming elements for the local flora and fauna.
