- Start: Mountain station, Riederalp West
- Destination: Train station, Mörel-Filet
The start of the hike is at the mountain station Riederalp West. Hike eastwards to the Oberried junction, past the Golfhotel Riederhof. The “alte Schlitt” or “Herrenweg” takes you through the Riederwald down to Oberried, which lies on a high plateau between the Riederalp and the village of Ried-Mörel. Here you enjoy a beautiful view over Goms, Ried-Brig, Termen and the Simplon area. From here you continue hiking downhill to the quaint and quiet village of Ried-Mörel. The last stage leads you to Mörel-Filet, also known as the chestnut village. Alternatively, you can take the cable car back from Ried-Mörel to the Riederalp or down to Mörel-Filet.
