The hike starts at Egga. On the other side of the national road and past the water basin, the route follows the side road towards Guggina. From the first hairpin bend, follow the dirt road towards Simplon Dorf until it ends. The path runs mostly flat through the sparse (larch) forest. The view of Simplon Dorf changes constantly during the tour, but it is always worth a short break. From the Äusseru Täl, the path follows the road down to Simplon Dorf.
