From Hotel Ganterwald, the route gently ascends along the paved forest road, which starts just behind the hotel. This leads, after crossing the Durstbach, to the upper Egge. Here, right next to the first chalet, a path goes up through a short woodland to the beautiful meadows of Wasenalp. Soon you reach the highest point of the hike, the lovely panoramic terrace of the Berggasthaus Wasenalp. Once hunger and thirst are no longer an issue, follow the Wasmerstrasse to the «Martinskehr». From here, a beautiful path leads directly to Rothwald. From there, you can reach the starting point - the Restaurant Ganterwald - in a few minutes via the sidewalk of Simplonstrasse.
