The Saltina Loop begins in Brig, where the first turn-off onto Hofjistrasse heading east is taken. The route leisurely follows the road to the Biela. From there, it continues east until the village of Termen is reached. After reaching the easternmost point, a sharp right turn follows. The trail then continues along the Basweri. Through the forest, the trail continues over the Ganterbach and the Taferna. Subsequently, the descent into the lower Nesseltal follows and continues to the Wickert crossroads. Then the Saltina is crossed, and the path leads back over the new Simplon road to Brig.
