Hohtourli - a popular ski route in Rothwald. After a short warm-up from Ganterwald towards Wasenalp, you climb over even slopes to the Hohture. This route is ideal for beginners.

Ascent

Rothwald – Start at the Ganterwald restaurant on the Simplon Pass road. Following the forest road, the route begins with a warm-up to Hackber. You climb to the right up to Wasenalp. Following the edge of the ski slope, you reach the Wintrigmatte from there in about 20 minutes. The path passes behind alpine huts and then climbs in switchbacks through the larch forest. You reach the tree line at the avalanche barriers. Over the ridge, you ascend to the Hohture summit (or as the locals say: Hohturli).

Rothwald – The descent proceeds via the ascent route through the open larch forest down to Rothwald.
