The varied, long ski route to the northwest base of the Fletschhorn is a demanding route and requires skill.

Long and varied ski route, which is only doable under very good conditions. The approach to the Bodmer Glacier is very steep and exposed.

Ascent

Simplon Dorf – From Simplon Dorf to Bodme (1’836 m), then ascend the hollows and slopes to the right towards the Bodmer Glacier. Continue over the glacier, avoiding the middle crevasse zone, and then reach the notch (3’018 m) at the foot of the east ridge of the Fletschhorn. Climb either the northwest flank or the easy ridge to the summit.

Descent

Simplon Dorf – Same as ascent. At 2600 m you can leave the glacier and go right to cross the moraine.
