This varied snowshoe hike takes you from the parking lot at Hotel Ganterwald through forested areas with panoramic views over the Gantertal to the mountain inn Wasenalp. With the impressive mountains in front of you, you ascend towards the south. At the top, another breathtaking panorama opens up. The restaurant Mäderlicka invites you to take a break. Afterwards, enjoy a varied descent through the Jochtwald to Rothwald.

Directions
From Hotel Ganterwald, follow the marked trail along to the "Obru Egge". From here, hike uphill over the Hackber to the mountain inn Wasenalp. Then continue along the prepared slope (blue slope marking) uphill to the "Wintrigmatta". Upon arrival, follow the lake slope (red slope marking) to just below the mountain station "Chastelegga Lift". Then continue again in a southwest direction uphill to the panoramic restaurant Mäderlicka. Afterwards, you can follow the snowshoe trail markings down through the Jochtwald into the "Obru" and later into the "Undru" Rothwald. Cross the sidewalk of the national road to return to the starting point (Hotel Ganterwald).

This route is only accessible when the lake slope is open!
The trails are marked with wooden posts painted purple. Reflective tape is also attached. We kindly ask you, in the interest of our forest and wildlife, to stay on the marked routes. Waste belongs back in the backpack.
