The snowshoe trail starts at the mountain station and leads about 300 meters uphill to the Fleschboden restaurant. After a well-deserved rest at the highest point of the tour, the trail leads down on the other side of the ski slopes back to the chalets of Rosswald and to the mountain station of the gondola lift. The marked snowshoe trail is easy to walk with the appropriate equipment and also suitable for beginners. The entire route, especially the descent, is very sunny and offers a great view into the Rhone Valley – up to central Valais.

Directions
You start this trail at the Rosswald mountain station and follow the marked path to the restaurant. From there, continue to the end of the parking lot. The trail leads through the forest to the old wooden chalets of Alpe Rosswald. Now follow the markings on the old military road through the Saflisch forest until you reach the blue ski slope. From here it is not far to the intermediate destination. You hike along the ski slope to the Fleschboden restaurant. You have now reached the highest point of the trail. The return route leads you downhill across the large area next to the ski lift into a forest section. Then follows a short, steep descent, which you manage in a zigzag. Afterwards you hike through the open forest with views of the Glishorn and into the Rhone Valley towards Rosswald. Southeast of you are the Ganter Valley, the Wasenalp, and the Simplon Pass. Between the holiday apartments and chalets, you reach back to the mountain station.

Directions & Parking facilities
Via motorway 9 to the Ried-Brig / Termen / Rosswald exit. Then follow Termen / Ried-Brig and stay on the road until you arrive at the Rosswald cable cars. Take the Rosswald cable car up to Rosswald.
There is a paid parking lot at the valley station.
You can reach Rosswald comfortably by public transport. From Brig train station, take the post bus and continue by cable car to Rosswald.

The winter habitats and protection areas of the animals are mainly in the forest. To preserve the peace of the animals, you must adhere to the trail markings. At the respective starting points of the trails and at necessary locations, information boards point out this issue. In cooperation with the wildlife wardens and forestry officials, the listed trails have been classified as wildlife- and forest-friendly. Snowshoers are asked not to leave the marked paths – for their own safety and to protect the animals in the forest. This route is only walkable when the piste is open!
The trails are marked with wooden stakes painted violet. Reflective bands are also attached. We ask you, in the interest of our forest and wildlife, to stay on the marked routes. Waste belongs back in the backpack.
