This trail belongs to the technically rather easy, but nevertheless most beautiful snowshoe tours in Goms. A must for nature lovers and romantics.
The trail leads from Gluringen first over the sunny Matte in the direction of the neighbouring village of Reckingen. At Camping Augenstern you cross the young Rhone (called "Rotte") and soon reach the bridge that leads over the sparkling Blinne stream. At Stadle you can see the Stalen Chapel for the first time on a hill in the clearing.
The chapel was built on the site of a former hermitage in 1769. Make sure you take the time to discover this place of power and enjoy a view of the village of Reckingen and the Goms mountains. After a refreshing break, the trail climbs another 50 metres to the forest road that in summer leads into the Blinnen valley. In winter the trail into the wildly romantic valley is inaccessible due to the danger of avalanches.
The highest point of the tour is also the halfway point. The gentle descent continues towards Reckingen. The majestic larches of the mountain forest dreamily line the trail. Once in the mountain village it is worth taking a look back. It was great, the snowshoe tour to the Stalen Chapel!

Safety guidelines
Local conditions may entail changes to routes.Take a map with you or download the complete description of the route with a large-scale map. Use only signposted paths and observe all markings and signs - for your own safety, for the protection of the landscape and in respect for wildlife. Be considerate of other users. Take your rubbish and that of others with you.
Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Adequate clothing and provisions (food and drink) are very important. If the weather is unstable, it is better to turn around early. Carry additional sun protection with you. UV rays at high altitudes can be very strong, especially in winter, even when the sky is overcast.
Plan your tour carefully and in detail. Inform yourself in advance about the current conditions (avalanche danger, cross-country ski runs, winter hiking trails, snow trails and road conditions) and weather conditions. The winter sports report provides you with valuable information from the region.
