Beautiful hike that is already possible at the beginning of April in spring. The waterfall in the Tunetsch Gorge is the big highlight. Convenient arrival and departure by bus and train.

The hike from Termen to Filet (Mörel) is varied and, except for the ascent from the Matti Gorge to "zen Achru", not especially strenuous. The route can also be extended well from Brig via the Biela. Those who wish can ascend to the Tunetschalp from "zen Achru". Especially in spring, you walk through blooming forests and along green meadows. In the Tunetsch Gorge, you will find a beautiful waterfall descending over several tiers. However, you should not stay long here. The terrain consists of loose rock, which can also fall from the Folluhorn. After the steep ascent, you reach the sunny plateau at "zen Achru" – ideal for a break.

You then continue walking down through the forest to Filet. Across the bridge, you reach Mörel where you can connect to the MGB (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) back to Brig.

Important: The section in Matti Gorge up to zen Achru is a mountain hiking trail T3. There is no bridge in the gorge to cross the water. You have to balance from stone to stone to the other side.

Getting there

Take the train to Brig. Here you change to the postbus and ride to Termen village square, where the hike begins. From Mörel, take the MGB (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) back to Brig.

Parking

Parking is available in Termen and Brig.

Public transportation

The hike is possible from Brig train station or Termen village square. If you go to Termen, buses operate from Brig train station. The journey lasts about 15 minutes.
