Three different training tracks are available for ambitious cross-country skiers in Obergoms: All with the aim of promoting personal fitness and condition to a maximum.

Between Ritzingen and Blitzingen, a band of over three kilometres runs through the snow-covered mountain landscape. An ideal cross-country ski run to get into shape. In addition to the Grafschaft training track, the Oberwald-Obergesteln and Rhonequelle training  runs also belong to the 100 km long network of Loipe Goms.

The ride on the training trails requires the highest concentration. The hard climbs of the black slopes really get the pulse going and the downhill runs are not meant for recreation. This is especially true for the Trainingloipe Grafschaft. Its altitude profile resembles a real ascent and descent.

As demanding tracks of the Loipe Goms, the training tracks can be ideally combined with other pistes. Ready for each other, an interval training for perfect fitness is created in a natural way.

With the cross-country ski pass of the Loipe Goms, you travel free of charge on the MGBahn route Oberwald-Fiesch during the period of validity.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Would you like a refreshing shower after training near the cross-country tracks? You can do this in the Nordic Centre Ulrichen and in the Oberwald cross-country ski trail control centre. From winter 2019/20, the new visitor centre in Niederwald will also be available with changing rooms, lockers and showers for athletes as well as a bistro for refreshments.

Safety guidelines

The Goms cross-country ski trail network is open from 9am to 4pm. The use of the trails is at your own risk. Obergoms Tourismus AG and Loipe Goms disclaim all liability and assume no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information on this website.

Use only marked trails and follow all markings and signs - for your own safety, for the protection of the landscape and in respect of wildlife.

Be considerate towards other cross-country skiers. Every cross-country skier, especially on downhill runs, must adapt speed and behaviour to his ability and visibility. In classic running tracks and on the piste for free running technique, you run on the right side of the piste with an appropriate safety distance to the front runner. If you stop, you step out of the cross-country ski run. Assistance in case of accidents is a matter of course. To alert the rescue service, dial No. 144.

Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing is very important.

The winter sports report keeps you informed about the current conditions (avalanche danger, cross-country skiing, winter hiking trails, snow trails and road conditions).
