- Start: Moosfluh, Gondola Mountain Station
- Destination: Riederalp, Middle Cable Car Mountain Station
Take the glacier cable car up to the Moosfluh View Point. Here, even before starting the winter hike, you will experience an absolute highlight: the view of the Great Aletsch Glacier and the snow-covered four-thousanders of the Valais Alps. Enjoy this breathtaking panoramic view fully! You then hike along the ridge via the adventure path to Breitebode. Here you leave the ridge and descend towards the Mountain Restaurant Chüestall. Passing the mountain station of the Golmenegg drag lift, you walk down to the valley station of the Moosfluh glacier cable car and continue westward to the mountain station of the Riederalp Mitte cable car.
The route consists of several sections. Please check the winter sports report for open/closed status.

Safety guidelines
Use of the winter hiking trails and information on this website is at your own risk. Conditions on site may cause route changes.
Carry a map with you. Download the complete description of the hiking trail including a large scale map by clicking "Print" in the upper right corner of the page.
Use only marked hiking trails and follow all signs and instructions – for your own safety, to protect the grazing animals, and without disturbing the peace of the wild animals.
- Be considerate towards other trail users and the landscape. Take your waste and others' waste with you.
Carry additional sun protection. UV rays at high altitudes can be very strong, especially in winter, even in overcast weather.
Plan your hike carefully: consider the required fitness of all participants, weather forecasts, and seasonal conditions.
Weather conditions can change very quickly and without warning in the mountains. Appropriate clothing and sufficient provisions (food and drink) are very important. In case of unstable weather, it's better to turn back early.
- Do not go onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
Observe warning signals indicating dangers, especially avalanche risk.
Inform others about your route and, if possible, never hike alone.
Note(s)
Due to altitude and route conditions, good footwear is absolutely necessary for this winter hike.
