Hiking

Looking for a hike on the Simplon Pass? Rothwald/Wasenalp is just the place. And it’s easy to reach with the PostBus via the Simplon Pass road. You can start your hike directly from the bus stop. Whether you’re on a walk to the Wasenalp, a route leading to the ‘Wasmerseeli’ mountain lake or an Alpine adventure that takes you to the Alpe Veglia in Italy, your heart is sure to sing in Rothwald – especially in autumn, when the larch forest turns golden yellow.

Winter sports

Rothwald/Wasenalp is a small but impressive ski resort with 25 km of pistes and two ski lifts. It is also ideal for snowshoe adventures thanks to the stunning panoramic views and the well-developed network of trails.
