The exposed alpine route from Spitzhorli to the summit of Glishorn offers great views. However, you must be absolutely sure-footed and free from acrophobia on the alpine route.

This demanding alpine route offers you a magnificent view down into the Rhone valley and towards Brig. However, you must be absolutely sure-footed and free from acrophobia on the alpine route.

The route starts as a mountain hike at the Simplonpass heading towards Nanzlicka and further to Spitzhorli. From now on you are on the alpine route (marked blue and white). You reach Fülhorn from Spitzhorli via the ridge. From Fülhorn you descend over scree to the plateau in front of Glishorn. The summit cross of Glishorn is accessible via a short descent and a ridge that falls away on both sides. The ridge crossing is not recommended in windy conditions.

The descent from Glishorn down to Mattustafel is steep, so caution is advised. It is important not to miss the start of the small path about 250 meters west of the Glishorn summit. From Mattustafel to Glis, you can use the wide field road. In Glis at the Holzji stop, you can board the local bus that takes you to Brig.
