From the bridge in Fiesch (junction Fieschertal/railway station) walk westwards, past the district of Wiler, towards Lax, the actual starting point of the route. There, at the height of the Bellevue restaurant, take the path down to the Rotten bridge and follow the ascent on the other side of the valley up to the Wasen. From here you are on the historic trade route from Grengiols to Binn and further over the Albrun pass to Italy. Initially you hike towards Hockmatta, after about a 2 km descent you cross the historic Roman bridge. From now on, the path goes uphill towards the Twingi Gorge. The path leads through impressive rock formations, tunnels and over bridges. Way crosses remind you that you are on the most difficult and dangerous section of the old trade route. After crossing the Twingi Gorge, the last stage leads over a road directly into the mineral village of Binn. By post bus you return to Fiesch.
