Directions
- At the start of the hike, you descend a few meters from the Bortelhütte to Furgguböümbach. The hiking trail now climbs through the forest until you reach a wide road at Heitrich. The path leads you to Wintrigmatta. There is always a bench along the way where you can rest and enjoy the view of the Rhone Valley.
Â
For your lunch break, we recommend taking the detour to the left at Bürufalla up to Wasmerseewji. There is a picnic table by the lake. Here you can also get another point for your Simplon.app.
Â
Strengthened, you hike from Wasmerseewji back to Bärufalla and turn left onto the Alpenpässeweg trail. A final sweat-inducing ascent follows along a path lined with blueberry bushes. The mountain station of the Rothwald ski lift soon appears in front of you. At over 2230 m above sea level, you have reached the highest point of your hike. At the ski lift, you can collect another point for the Simplon.app. Now follows the descent through the Chapfwald forest to Schallbett. Hike over the pass road galleries to the top of the Simplon pass.
Equipment
- Equipment suitable for the weather is essential. Good, sturdy mountain boots are strongly recommended for all hikes.
