Ascent
Simplon Pass - After starting at Simplon Pass 2005 m, pass right by Rotelsee and diagonally turn right through the steep slope to the broad terrace below point 2258. Shortly before point 2258, turn left and climb the slope covered with boulders. At 2400 m you reach a ramp whose south flank runs parallel to the west ridge. Stay on this ramp until the slope becomes steeper and then switch to the south ridge and climb to the winter summit. The last few meters must be completed on foot.
Descent
Simplon road north of Engiloch - up to point 2258 as per ascent and then head towards the Holiecht TV mast and descend over Giblatt down to the Simplon road above the curve in Engiloch.
