The Zwischbergenbus (call bus) takes you from the Zollamt Gondo stop up to the Berggasthof Bord in the Zwischbergental. It is worth arriving the day before and spending the night here.
The old mule track and smuggler's trail leads over Alpe Härd up to Alpe Waira. Depending on the season, you can witness the preparation of Waira Alpine cheese. Through the light larch forest you climb up to the blue Waira lake. An old trail leads across the moor meadow to the ascent to Lake Tschawinersee. With the panorama of Monte Leone in the background, Lake Tschawinersee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Valais. After a short ascent, the trail leads over rock terraces past the tongue of the Block glacier to Italy. The short descent leads you to the Riffugio Gattascosa. A short ascent then leads to the Monscerapass. From the pass summit, the smuggler's path leads through the larch forest down to Alpe Pussetta and on to Zwischbergen to Gasthof Bord.
