The Zwischbergen bus (on-call bus) takes you from the Zollamt Gondo stop up to the Bord mountain inn in the Zwischberg valley. It is worth arriving the day before and spending the night here.
The old pack and smuggler's path leads over the Alpe Härd up to Alpe Waira. Depending on the season, you can watch the preparation of Alpkäse Waira. Through the sparse larch forest, you ascend to the blue Waira lake. An old trail leads over the moor meadow up to the Tschawinersee. With the panorama of Monte Leone in the background, the Tschawinersee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Valais. After a short ascent, you pass over rock terraces past the tongue of the block glacier into Italy. The short descent leads you to Rifugio Gattascosa. This is followed by a short ascent to Monscerapass. From the pass height, the smuggler's path leads down through the larch forest to Alpe Pussetta and further down to Zwischbergen at the Bord guesthouse.
