Advent magic in Brig-Glis

The Brig-Glis ‘Advent magic’ event is going to be bringing the festive spirit in the lead-up to Christmas again this year.

From 24 November to 24 December, you can get out on the ice rink and take your skates for a spin. Seven market stalls are also on hand with delicious Christmas drinks and treats for sale.

The ‘Chrischchindlimärt’ Christmas market will be open between 7 and 10 December in Brig old town.

Ice rink at the Stadtplatz square

From 24 November, ice-skating enthusiasts will also be able to do their afternoon laps on the ice rink, which is operated with synthetic ice and features festive Christmas decorations. Thanks to the synthetic plates, no energy is required for ice production.

From 24 November to 24 December, warm treats and drinks can be enjoyed daily at the Stadtplatz square, with the seven market stalls open every evening until 8 pm.

Advent market – Chrischchindlimärt

The ‘Chrischchindlimärt’ Christmas market will take place between 7 and 10 December 2023 in Brig old town,
where visitors can enjoy a stroll along the various market stalls. The products sold there range from spices and unique items made from precious metal to handmade nativity figurines and baked goods, with plenty of tasty treats available and the scent of mulled wine in the air.

Christmas market opening hours:

7 December: 2 pm to 9 pm
8 December: 2 pm to 9 pm
9 December: 2 pm to 9 pm
10 December: 11 am to 5 pm

It wouldn’t be a Christmas market without some entertainment!The supporting programme includes a children’s carousel, a puppet theatre, a candle-dipping stand and non-stop music.
