The reservoir can only be reached by hiking to the Folluhorn. From the mountain station of the Rosswald cable car (1819 m.a.s.l.), the trail leads up to the Maria zum Guten Rat chapel. You follow the hiking trail markings and hike up the zigzag path on the side of the Folluhorn to the summit.
From there you can get a very good view of the lake.
