This varied snowshoe hike takes you from the car park at the Hotel Ganterwald over wooded areas, with panoramic views over the Gantertal valley to the mountain guesthouse Wasenalp. The impulsive mountains in front of your eyes will take you up in a southerly direction. At the top a breathtaking panorama opens up again. The Restaurant Mäderlicka invites you to take a break. Afterwards you can enjoy a varied descent through the Jochwald to Rothwald.

From Hotel Ganterwald follow the marked trail to Obru Egge. From here you hike uphill via Hackber up to the mountain restaurant Wasenalp. Then you follow the prepared slope (blue slope markings) up to the "Wintrigmatta". Once here, follow the lake slope (red slope markings) until just below the "Chastelegga Lift" mountain station. Continue in a southwesterly direction uphill to the panorama restaurant Mäderlicka. Then we can again follow the snowshoe trail marking over the Jochtwald down into the "Obru" and later into the "Undru" Rothwald. You return to the starting point (Hotel Ganterwald) via the pavement of the national road.
This route is only accessible when the lake is open (danger of avalanches)!
The trails are marked with wooden poles with a purple coating. In addition, reflective light bands are attached. We kindly ask you to follow the marked routes in the interest of our forest and wildlife. Waste should be put back in your rucksack.
Clothing adapted to the weather conditions is indispensable.
