Ascent
Rothwald - Start at the Ganterwald restaurant on the Simplonpassstrasse. Following the forest road, the tour begins with a run-in to Hackber. You climb right up to Wasenalp. Following the edge of the ski slope, you can reach Wintrigmatte from there in around 20 minutes. The path leads past alpine huts and then climbs up in the larch forest in turns. You reach the tree line at the avalanche barriers. You climb the summit Hohture (or as the locals call it: Hohturli) over the ridge.
Descent
Rothwald - The descent is via the ascent track through the open larch forest down into the Rothwald.
