Today we are going high! To climb the Brudelhorn from Geschinen, several route options are possible. Today the mountain tour goes via Merezenbach, a wild side valley of the young Rhone valley.
Following the Merezebach the path first goes uphill towards Chäller, where the cattle are summered on lush alpine pastures. Via a steep eastern flank it continues to Schlossmatte, which was once shaped by the mighty Rhone glacier like a mountain terrace high above the valley floor. The lush alpine meadows become increasingly sparse and rocky up to the summit. The last meters to the Brudelhorn run over a scree ridge. The 360° alpine panorama is unique; the effort was worth it!
The descent is via the Distelsee, where the heavenly blue sky reflects quietly. The Lengtal, which we pass through on the onward way to Ladstafel, also offers lush alpine pastures. The alpine cheese that can be purchased at the Ladstafel dairy tastes wonderful!
