The Galmihorn Hut is inevitably on the path of the wonderful mountain tour that is on the programme today.
The first meters of altitude are gained in the protective mountain forest on the steadily ascending forest road. Above the timberline, the heart of nature lovers opens up to species-rich alpine flora and the wide view of the unique alpine chain. The hospitality of the Galmihornhütte invites you to a refreshing stop, but the highest point of the hike is only reached at the woodern cross of "Treichbode".
Then the descent into the wildly romantic Bächital begins, in the distance the peaks that give the hut its name (Vorderes and Hinteres Galmihorn). The hiking trail to the "Chäller" and on to the "Guferschmatte" crosses the narrow alpine road from time to time. From here it is a leisurely walk along the forest road to "Jungholz". The last section of the trail to the picturesque mountain village of Reckingen leads across an idyllic pasture.

Safety guidelines
Take a map with you or download the complete description of the route with a large-scale map. Use only signposted paths and observe all markings and signs - for your own safety, for the protection of the landscape and in respect for wildlife. Be considerate of other users. Take your rubbish and that of others with you.
Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Adequate clothing and provisions (food and drink) are very important. If the weather is unstable, it is better to turn around early.
Carry additional sun protection with you. UV rays at high altitudes can be very strong, even when the sky is overcast.
Plan your tour carefully and in detail. Inform yourself in advance about the current conditions and weather conditions. The summer report provides you with valuable information from the region.
