5th stage: Here it is: the Ecomuseum
Up to the village of Gabi, you follow the historically significant route of the Stockalperweg with its “Case forti” on the Simplon and also along the entire section which runs through an area full of pastures and small Walser villages. The village Simplon, with its heavy stone houses that are perfectly adapted to the surroundings, houses the Ecomuseum, www.simplon.ch. From Gabi, you climb to Furgu, a dip on the mountain ridge that leads to Seehorn, to then descend between alpine pastures and meadows into the Zwischbergen valley down to the namesake oratory and the nearby stage destination.

Simplon Pass is easily accessible by post bus from Brig.
You can also get to Zwischbergen by post bus.
In Gondo, Hof, Bällegga, at the Sera reservoir as well as at Bord there is a connection to the post bus line Gondo-Zwischbergen. Please note that this is a request bus, i.e. the bus only runs if reservations have been made in advance. Therefore, do not forget to register with PostAuto by phone at +41 79 713 70 02 at least two hours before departure to be picked up by the bus.
