A beautiful, secluded ski touring peak that is rarely visited.

The Tossenhorn is rarely visited and therefore offers a beautiful ski tour in the seclusion of the Laggin Valley. In very good conditions, it is possible to descend via the Lagginbiwak to Simplon village.

Ascent

From Lagginbiwak (2,428 m) on R. 604 to the foot of the right lateral moraine of the Weissmies Glacier. Cross this, traverse the flat section at the foot of the glacier towards the southeast, cross the left lateral moraine as well, and ascend to the small Wysse Bode plateau (2,504 m). Climb southwards, above 2700 m, over a ridge that descends from the Tällihorn north ridge, and into a hollow that leads up to this north ridge. Climb in the hollow or on the ridge to the left of it and reach the shore of the Tälligletscher glacier. On this glacier, climb in an arc to the left and into the Tällijoch (3178 m). The wide firn ridge provides an easy route to the summit. From Gabi, allow 6-7 hours.

Descent

Same as ascent, then take route 144 to Simplon village (1472 m) or route 143 to Gabi (1228 m), but only in very safe conditions.
