The Stockalperweg (ViaStockalper), a mule track expanded more than 300 years ago by Kaspar Stockalper, has come to life again as a cultural hike in recent years. It is also suitable for trail running. 

The first stage leads from Brig to Simplon Village.

Directions

The trail running experience begins in Brig. In the first stage, around 1,800 meters of elevation are covered. The path leads from Brig via Holzji into the Nanztal. On the left side of the Nanztal, the path goes almost to the end of the valley. At the Sirwoltesattel, the highest point is reached and the descent to Simplon Village begins. From Engeloch, you run on the Stockalperweg.

Equipment

Weather-appropriate equipment is essential. Good running shoes are recommended for all trail running routes.

Easily accessible by private vehicle.
There are several parking garages available in Brig.

You can conveniently travel by train (SBB) to Brig main station.

Various PostBus lines are available at the station.
