Directions
Past the Briger Stockalperschloss, the path follows the so-called "Roman path" through open meadows over the hamlet of Brei to the "Chräjubielwald". The steep step up to the "Chalchofe" is overcome in two hairpin bends. The hillside path to Schallberg was built by Stockalper in 1667 and offers a view of the impressive Saltinaschlucht gorge. After the descent to the floodplain in the "Grund", the path leads along the Gantertal and up to the Wasenalp. From there, the path continues to the Simplon Pass and finally along the Stockalperweg to Simplon Village.
