The hike leads through lush alpine meadows, past the Lüsgersee lake and via the Tyndall monument and Hohbiel up to the Sparrhorn. The ascent is not very difficult and is also suitable for children with surefootedness. It is worthwhile to enjoy the view of the fantastic mountain world of the Valais Alps again and again along the way. From the summit of the Sparrhorn at 3021 m. above sea level, a panoramic view opens up: The jags of the Fusshörner are within reach, further down the Oberaletsch glacier can be seen, and in the distance the striking four-thousand-metre peaks of the Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Dom and Monte Rosa, among others, can be seen.

Belalp, Belalp cable car mountain station
From the Belalp mountain station, follow the road to the east until you reach Bruchegg. Here you branch off to the left and walk above the Lüsgersee lake to the Tyndall monument. Continue along the signposting up to Hohbiel. From here, there are some steep serpentines and finally you walk up a gravel-covered flank to the summit.

Despite the " impossible to miss " markings of the hiking trails, we recommend for safety reasons to always have an appropriate hiking map with you, so that you can quickly find a safe area in case of a thunderstorm or an emergency, for example.
Especially in autumn, you should also be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, stones or holes in the path. After storms, trees can still fall over or branches can fall down. Especially in bad weather conditions, near-natural paths can become muddy and slippery. You have to expect this kind of path obstruction when you go on a hike.
Not all rocks or precipices are secured with ropes or railings. In some cases surefootedness is required. If you think that certain sections of the trail are not passable for you, you should avoid them.
Sturdy shoes, clothing suitable for the weather, sun and rain protection, as well as sufficient supplies of food and drinks, should there be no refreshment stops or shopping facilities available or open. Although the trail is very well marked throughout, you should always have a suitable hiking map with you for safety reasons. Take sticks or other aids with you.
