- Start: Rothwald
- Destination: Berisal
In Rothwald you start in the direction of Furggubäumlicke with an easy ascent to Wasenalp. At Wintrigmatte, follow the wide path (Alpine passes path no. 9) in front of the alpine huts until you reach the next signpost. This is where the ascent towards Furggubäumlicke begins. Passing numerous blueberry bushes, the terrain along the hiking trail becomes increasingly stony. There is a small lake just below the Furggubäumlicka. The steepest part of the ascent follows. Some sections are secured with handrails and iron steps. Good surefootedness is required. Depending on the time of year, there may still be a snowfield. Once you reach Furggubäumlicka, you have a fantastic view of the Rhone Valley and towards Italy / Alpe Veglia.
The descent is identical as far as the signpost above Heitrich. Here, take the path towards Berisal. At the buildings in Schrickbodu, the path leads left through the forest to Berisal.
