Directions

Past the Stockalper Castle in Brig, the trail leads along the so-called “Römerweg” through open meadowland via the hamlet of Brei to the “Chräjubielwald” forest. The steep slope to “Chalchofe” is conquered in two hairpin bends. The slope path to Schallberg was built by Stockalper in 1667 and offers a view of the impressive Saltina Gorge. After descending to the floodplain landscape in the “Grund”, the trail leads along the Gantertal valley and up to Wasenalp. From there, the trail leads to the Simplon Pass and finally along the Stockalperweg to Simplon Dorf.
