The Oberaletsch Hut, a massive stone house at the foot of the Fusshörner at 2640m above sea level, is located in the middle of the alpine glacier area of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
The ascent starts at the mountain station of the aerial tramway (2094 m.a.s.l.) and leads via Hotel Belalp and the Aletschbord to the alpine pastures of the Üsser Aletschji. Behind the crossing under the rugged rocks of the "Bord", the meltwater of the Oberaletsch glacier has dug deep into the rock.
The comfortable path, which leads over a moraine ridge, zigzags rapidly upwards and then leads into the valley high above the Oberaletsch glacier. It crosses several steep gullies, partly secured with ropes. The impressive scenery unfolds with a view of the Oberaletsch hut (2640 m.a.s.l.).
