Starting in Binn, the Saflisch Trail heads west through the Binntal valley to the Heiligkreuz junction. The tour then heads east again, with varied passages through the Binntal Landscape Park. A highlight of the first stage is the Saflischpass, which is reached after a challenging climb. Starting from the Saflischpass, the trail continues to Rosswald. This stage of the descent leads from Rosswald to Schallberg and then through the forest to Ried-Brig. In the last stage, the trail follows the new Simplon road to the Alpine town of Brig.

Brig
In Binn, cross the bridge and follow the asphalt road to Heiligkreuz. Here you reach the other side of the valley via a bridge. You continue along the asphalt road, which now climbs somewhat more briskly. The ascent is quite pleasant as far as alpine climbs go. Now the asphalt surface ends and you continue on the paved road towards the east.
The road ends. You follow the signs towards Saflischpass on the trail. Below the Huwetz scree slope you reach the Saflischpass. Follow the trail until you reach the Rosswald reservoir. Attention: Bathing is prohibited! If you want to swim, there is a bathing lake with a playground and picnic tables at the mountain station.
At Fleschbode, where there is a restaurant, the trail turns right over the paved gravel road to Alpe Rosswald. Past the Maria zum Guten Rat chapel, the descent takes you to the mountain station of the Rosswald cable cars. Follow the marked bike trail "Rosswald Trail" in the direction of Stückiegga and enjoy the descent over the trails to the valley station of the Rosswald cable cars. Before the valley station, turn left and continue to Bleike near Ried-Brig. Cover the last few metres on the Stockalperweg trail until you reach the Alpine town of Brig.
Use only the marked bike paths and roads and follow the signs. Please close gates and pasture fences behind you. Be considerate of hikers, plants and animals. Hikers always have the right of way. Make a good assessment of your own abilities and physical condition. The use of the various routes is always at your own risk.
Our recommendation: technically perfect bike, helmet, gloves and bell, suitable clothing depending on the weather (always bring rain protection), drink and food.
Enjoy a cool down in one of the restaurants on Rosswald.
The approach is well signposted via Brig.
