Ski tour on the Böshorn or Rauthorn (3269 m above sea level)

  • start: Engiloch
  • destination: Böshorn or Rothorn

Ascent

Engeloch - Ascent from Engeloch in the Ritzibach Valley to the Wysse Bode plain. A steep slope leads south under ledges. You overcome it east of the waterfall on a ramp that leads upwards from left to right. Now go left towards the western Sirwoltesee past a first ledge. Climb up until you head west, suspended on a belt, come against the snow saddle and traverse it. Now back up steeply to the south, keeping a little to the left. Keep south-east through a long hollow, then climb up the steeper north-east slope towards the east ridge of the Böshorn. Ski depot at approx. 3,200 m at the foot of the rocks. Climb to the summit over the exposed ridge in good rock.

Descent

Engeloch - The descent is via the ascent track. Depending on the assessment of the dangers, this can also vary.

Egga - From Sirwoltesee, at the foot of the north flank, climb east into a saddle (approx. 2,600 m) between Schilthorn and Wyssbodehorn (2,623 m). Pierce over the pass and east into the beautiful Wysse Bode hollow. You drive to the end. Turn right and go south over a ridge to Rossbodestafel. In the lightly wooded valley floor you reach the Simplon road at Egga.
